About Trisha
– Dr Trisha Waters is an Educational Therapist and founding director of the Centre for Therapeutic Storywriting which delivers the Therapeutic Storywriting Groups and Story Links interventions. These two evidence-based interventions are used in over 25 local authorities in England and Wales.
As a trained therapist, Trisha’s interest and commitment have been to develop educational models that bring appropriate psychological mindedness to the work of educational professionals supporting vulnerable pupils in schools.
Trisha began her career teaching in mainstream and special schools for pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties. She then worked at the University of Chichester where she led the MA in SEN & Inclusion. She is author of ‘Therapeutic Storywriting’ and has written widely on inclusion and therapeutic education.
