About Caroline Coady
– Caroline Coady is Assistant Director for Social Care at the Council for Disabled Children (CDC). She is a key player in ensuring the success of CDC’s social care training programmes which look at the interactions between SEND legislation, social care legislation and mental capacity legislation, including support for young people as they prepare for adulthood.
For several years, Caroline was the Director of a community interest company she set up to support young people with autism to engage in outdoor adventure activities and was previously the Care Quality Commission registered manager of a short break outreach service in a local authority. She has an NVQ 5 in leadership and management in health and social care services for children and young people.
Caroline has volunteered and worked with disabled children and young people since she was 16. Her experience of supporting families to navigate existing support systems has allowed her to see the challenges for both families and professionals. She is passionate about using her wealth of experience to change and improve outcomes for children and young people.
