Dr Asha Patel
Developing a whole school approach to supporting positive mental health
Instead of focusing on mental health issues in individual students, our universal approach centres on the promotion of positive mental health and wellbeing, such as increasing resilience, developing healthy coping strategies and accessing support. Developing a mentally healthy culture enables everyone to access therapeutic support for their mental health, including staff. This therapeutic approach incorporates trauma and attachment informed models and embeds reflective and restorative practice.
This presentation by Dr Asha Patel outlines strategies educational staff and senior leaders can implement to create a therapeutic educational environment.
